ENGR 210 - Thermo-Fluids Engineering 3 hours Introduction to thermal engineering topics in the context of common applications including pumps, piping systems, turbines, compressors, refrigerators, air conditioners, furnaces, heat exchangers, and cooling fins. Properties of substances; system and control volume analyses; first and second laws of thermodynamics; energy and momentum balances; internal and external flows; heat conduction, convection, and radiation. Emphasis on practical applications to system safety and failure analysis. Offered every spring. Prerequisite(s): CHEM 103 , MATH 147 and PHYS 201 . UG
