ENGR 210 - Thermo-Fluids Engineering

Introduction to thermal engineering topics in the context of common applications including pumps, piping systems, turbines, compressors, refrigerators, air conditioners, furnaces, heat exchangers, and cooling fins. Properties of substances; system and control volume analyses; first and second laws of thermodynamics; energy and momentum balances; internal and external flows; heat conduction, convection, and radiation. Emphasis on practical applications to system safety and failure analysis. Offered every spring. Prerequisite(s): CHEM 103, MATH 147 and PHYS 201. UG
