This course is designed to acquaint students with the development and theory of American popular music, with specific concentration on 20th and 21st century styles. To include: American folk, jazz, Broadway, film score, contemporary worship styles, rock, pop, R&B, gospel. Students will examine the development of and connection between various genre and provide analyses of various common popular musical structures. UG
