The purpose of this course is to introduce and prepare the candidate to effectively select curriculum aligned with the Common Core and Illinois Learning Standards, plan instruction, assess learning, and reflectively analyze practice. The course covers each area from a generalist perspective. As the candidate progresses through the MAT methodology course sequence, he or she will couple enhanced knowledge with the refinement of skills acquired in this course specifically suited for teaching at the elementary, middle and secondary levels.
