ART 466 - Game and VR Development


3 hours
This course will cover how to create art that responds to commands, input, line-of-sight, and other methods of user control. Students will follow up with the 3D models and logos used in Packaging Design and design them to react to physics and user input. Discussions will include innovative ways to interact with digital media, incorporating traditional elements into nontraditional arts technology, and collaborative functions. Students will then design a 3D game and a VR application with a focus on the artistic style of these products. Topics include characters and environments that react visually to physics, as well as dynamic lighting, camera angles, and graphics performance. The final project will to be to create a short demo of both applications that is ready for user testing. Apple Pencil, iPad, and MacBook Pro required (see Department Technology Requirements). Prerequisite(s): ART 160 , ART 250 , ART 365 , and ART 366 . UG
