General Education Requirements, Undergraduate Programs - SGCS

To ensure that the student has a broad base of experience and knowledge in a variety of fields of human activity, and to carry out the aims of Christian education as outlined in its institutional objectives, Olivet Nazarene University requires courses in seven areas of study for students completing bachelor’s degrees. The General Education requirements for undergraduate programs in the School of Graduate and Continuing Studies parallel the requirements for traditional undergraduate programs (detailed in Design for Educational Excellence ), but are adjusted as follows:

- Western Civilization - 3 hours
- Social Science (Economics, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science) - 3 hours

5. Literature and the Arts (6 hours)
- Literature - 3 hours
- Fine Arts - 3 hours
6. Natural Science and Mathematics (9 hours)
- Biological Lab Science - 3 hours
- Physical Lab Science - 3 hours
- Mathematics - 3 hours
