HIST 420 - Blood at Little Bighorn 3 hours Course examines the relationship between the U.S. government and the Plains Indians between 1860 and 1890. More specifically, it surveys the events which preceded the Battle of Little Bighorn, carefully treats the battle itself, and finally considers the aftermath of the battle, which culminated in the tragedy at Wounded Knee. Structured as a colloquium, the course involves a heavy reading load and literature review; it is designed for upper division history majors, particularly those with an interest in graduate school. Prerequisite(s): HIST 231 , HIST 232 , and HIST 390 . UG
