MATH 373 - Foundations of Mathematics 3 hours A consideration of the origin, history, literature, and nature of mathematics. Possible topics include Euclid’s Elements, development of non-Eudlidean geometries, Hilbert’s postulates for geometry, algebraic structure, the modern mathematical method, number systems, sets, logic, and philosophy.
