EDUC 371 - Elementary Reading Assessment 2 hours This course is designed to provide understanding of the foundational theories of the processes and methodologies of reading assessment for first through sixth grade students. Emphases are placed on assessment techniques and strategies that assist in the diagnosis and treatment of literacy, word recognition, vocabulary development, and comprehension deficiencies. This course will take an integrated and balanced literacy approach using research-based best practices, including technology. This course includes a field experience. Prerequisite(s): admission to the Teacher Education program and successful completion of EDUC 321 - Elementary Reading Methods , or permission of the Director of Teacher Education. UG
