EDUC 355 - Middle Grades Science Methods 3 hours This course is an application of educational and developmental psychology concepts, theories, principles, and strategies and how their relationship impacts the pedagogical techniques teachers will implement in the 21st century middle grades classroom. Included in the curriculum is the accommodation of students through differentiated instruction, standards-based lessons, the integration of technology, and assessment tools. Teaching methods, strategies, and resources geared to Middle Grades Science in the areas of physical science, life sciences, and earth and space sciences are the focus of this course. Candidates will complete a 45-hour field experience. Candidates must be accepted into the Teacher Education Program to be enrolled in this course, which is a pre-requisite to student teaching at the middle grades level. UG
