BSNS 503 - Management Information Systems 3 hours This course is an overview of the design, implementation and use of computer based information systems within a business organization. The course will focus on the management of information in helping an organization reach its goals. It provides the student with an appreciation of the technology department and the typical IT roles in an organization. The use of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems will be discussed in the context of business functions. The course analyzes how IT can be used to support business operations, management and decision making using lecture, experiential learning, field trips, and guest speakers. Prerequisite(s): BSNS 160 BSNS 171 UG
