BLIT 202 - Christian Scriptures I 3 hours An introduction to the serious study of the Old Testament as Scripture, its original historical and literary contexts, and its contemporary relevance within the Christian church. Attention is given to the history of the people of Israel, the geography, customs, thought, and languages of the Biblical world. The course is intended to cultivate an appreciation for the Old Testament, and to provide the necessary background for understanding the New Testament. Prerequisite(s): THEO 101 . UG
