MATH 354 - Numerical Analysis

3 hours
The field of numerical analysis deals with mathematical theory, which leads to algorithms for solving various types of applied problems. The algorithms are computational and require a computer for their execution. Topics include solution of nonlinear equations, systems of nonlinear and linear equations, least squares curve fitting, polynomial interpolation, numerical integration and differentiation, and the numerical solution of ordinary differential equations. Offered in alternate years. Prerequisite(s): MATH 261 , MATH 351 , and CSIS 107  or CSIS 250 , or consent of instructor. UG
