MUED 452 - Middle School Music Methods

The focus of this course will be music teaching for grades 6-8. Topics include concepts of learning theory and educational psychology for grades 6-8; lesson planning, instruction, and assessment in middle school performing ensembles, general music classes, and other classes taught in the middle school; edTPA task 2, middle school classroom management; beginning instrumental ensembles; and other performing ensembles. 30 hours of practicum in the middle school classroom is required. Prerequisite(s): Upper Division status in Music and acceptance into Teacher Education. UG
