CMIN 669 - Understanding Competing Worldviews 3 hours This course will explore a “thick description” of the current cultural setting in the United States, its Global posture, and the impact of the myriad of competing narrative impacting the 21st Century ministry. During this course, students will explore both “Millenials and Generation Z” beyond the current fascination with cultural artifacts, rituals, and behaviors. Students will explore and gain fluency in the following competing worldviews: Nationalism, Militarism and Violence, Secularism and Radical Immanence, Consumerism, Nihilism, Extremism/Fundamentalism, and Hedonism.
