SPED 311 - Methods of Intervention for Students with Disabilities

This course provides teacher candidates the opportunity to master information about methods of interventions for students with disabilities.  Teacher candidates will demonstrate mastery for adapting general education curriculum based on individual learner needs.  An emphasis is placed on examining the academic, social and vocational needs of individuals and their transitional needs from pre-school to a post-secondary level.  Teacher candidates will create lesson plans based on the goals and objectives of students with disabilities.  A focus of this course is to adapt materials and incorporate technology into all aspects of instruction for students with disabilities.  This course includes a field experience. Satisfactory completion of field experiences are to be completed concurrently in EDUC 175 , EDUC 275 , or EDUC 375 . Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Teacher Education Program or permission of the Director of Teacher Education. UG
