BIB 110 - Introduction to World Religions 3 hours In this age of social media and instant news, the world is getting smaller and seemingly more diverse. More so than ever, our neighbors and co-workers hold religious beliefs different from our own, and as a result we are more aware of the need to be culturally competent, daily practicing sensitivity and respect. The Introduction to World Religions course will provide a basic overview of the religious faiths and practices of Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and Judaism, comparing their basic beliefs about God, creation, scriptures, salvation, and the afterlife. This course will be taught from an evangelical Christian perspective, and Christianity will be the foundational benchmark to which the other religions are compared.
