BIOL 339 - Professional Development for Medical Fields

This course is designed to help prepare for the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT^®) or Dental Admission Test (DAT). It is designed to provide not only an instructor-led review of the relevant content (now applied to human physiological scenarios), but also training in test-taking strategies and endurance. The course will be taken in-person, and so will also provide accountability for test-takers to help motivate them to reach each milestone along the arduous journey of preparation. Research has shown that the use of full-length practice exams coupled with test-enhanced learning (students will receive feedback on practice exam questions) is an effective learning strategy. This course will use published and proven exam preparation resources in order to utilize that strategy. Prerequisite(s): Grade of C or higher (not C minus) in BIOL/CHEM 335. UG
